Philippines Rice Disease Image Dataset

About the Dataset This dataset is created for the project under Omdena’s Local Chapter to develop a Rice Disease Classifier using open-source data and computer vision techniques. It contains images formatted to 224 x 224 pixels to facilitate model training.

1. Background Rice is central to Filipino culture, consumed in every meal and playing a pivotal role in celebrations and rituals.

2. Problem Rice diseases, including fungal, bacterial, and viral, threaten yields and quality. The Philippines’ climate exacerbates these issues, making effective treatment crucial.

3. Research We identified 13 rice diseases categorized into fungal, bacterial, and viral, affecting various parts of the plant.

4. Solution The aim is to construct a deep-learning model that can accurately identify these rice diseases to aid Filipino farmers.
