About the Dataset

The Kinetics dataset is renowned for its large scale and high-quality video clips aimed at facilitating human action recognition tasks. It includes approximately 500,000 video clips distributed across either 400 or 600 diverse human action categories, depending on the version (Kinetics-400 or Kinetics-600). Each category is represented by at least 400 or 600 clips, respectively. Each video, sourced from YouTube, captures a distinct action and lasts about 10 seconds.

Content

The dataset features over 10,000 video clips from various classes, with each class contributing 10 to 40 videos. This structure supports a comprehensive and balanced approach to training and testing models for action recognition in diverse scenarios.
